So far, I don’t think the two worlds are similar, and I do not think they are in the same universe.īoth stories are set in XIX Century, but Pandora Hearts is not placed in our world, but Mochizuki Jun used England as inspiration, while Vanitas no Carte is set in Paris, France.īut Vanitas no Carte has mentioned or put some elements and names from Pandora Hearts in its world. Both have that optimistic and cheerful personality that you might love or hate, but they also can be pretty serious if the occasion requires it (plus they are blonde with green eyes). The other two that I cannot help but think that share similarities are Jack (PH) and Roland (VnC). Vincent (PH) and Louis (VnC) were also good boys when they were kids, but as time passed, both started to develop cruel personalities. It does not matter if they should not help someone, they will do it anyways. Both characters are “righteous people” who would help in any situation if they are needed. I also got almost the same vibes from Elliot Nightray (PH) and Jeanne (VnC). Well… Alice lost her memories, but about Vanitas, we do not know many details about his past (at least not in the anime).Ĭan I point out that Alice and Noé share the same love for food and both of them are cute characters? Both may seem like arrogant characters at first, but also, they have some shy and cute traits.Īlice and Vanitas are shrouded in mystery and at first, we do not know much about their pasts or real intentions. The first resemblance that I could find between characters were Alice’s (PH) and Vanitas’ (VnC) personalities. Still, each character is a whole world apart and I like to think that they are unique even if they have some similar traits. Character comparisonsįirst of all, I do not really like comparing characters, but I cannot deny that there are certain similarities between some characters. Many people compared the character designs, but we need to keep in mind that these stories are creations of the same author and thus, the art can be pretty similar in some respects.
When Vanitas no Carte came out, we could find some similarities with Pandora Hearts characters, such as personalities or reactions. World and characters: are there similarities? That is why I wanted to make a brief comparison between these two stories to see if they could be connected or not. Many fans’ theories say Pandora Hearts and Vanitas no Carte are connected in some aspects. On the other hand, we have Vanitas no Carte and as we should have expected, it is another enchanting story and luckily, the anime adaptation made by Studio BONES was a masterpiece. Sadly, the anime adaptation did not make this story shine like it should have done and thus, ended up disappointing many of us. The most famous Mochizuki Jun’s story is Pandora Hearts, a gripping manga that makes you want to have more of it. Who has not fallen in love with Mochizuki Jun’s stories? Her character designs and world-building are something that makes you say “wow” every time you see a panel from her manga.
